David’s First Thanksgiving! <3

Thanksgiving in Ireland is way different than it is at home thats for sure! It’s so weird not to see all the turkey decorations and pilgrim stuff in the shops everywhere and thanksgiving specials all around at the grocery stores! It is definitely not a holiday here, but Dave and I decided to make it one ourselves!
We walked around town on Thursday evening and went to the grocery store too! We made a rotisserie chicken, Dave made mashed potatoes that he was really quite proud of (“What Irish person doesn’t know how to make mashed potatoes??), veggies, and fried apples for dessert!
It was a great dinner and we took some pics of our Thanksgiving together so here they are 😀 Enjoy!!
P.S  I also added some pictures from Dave’s birthday party and the xmas decorations from our walk down town on Thanksgiving day!

Student Fees Protest

So the story is on November 3rd there was a huge demonstration that was put together by the student union of Ireland. There was more than 20,000 students that came to the march from all over Ireland in an attempt to keep fees from being raised to 3,000 euros.

More than half of my class was gone on the day of the march and when I left school I took pictures of the students walking in the street. They made their way from Parnell street all the way down to Trinity College and then over to one of the government buildings.

Unfortunately the police got involved at the government buildings and a small group of protesters became violent and were treated with an over abundance of force by the guards. Of course now all that the news said about this awesome protest that was supposed to be peaceful is that the protesters were violent.

Anyway I wanted to post my pictures from the peaceful part because I thought it was an awesome thing to see 😀  I have a video but for some reason it only plays upside down so if I get it working eventually I will add it!
